Autumn 1
After our walk, we looked at some maps of our local area. We talked about aerial photographs. Miss Lancaster took a picture of the children’s super sitting on the carpet from above. The children made some incredible maps of their own! We also discussed human and physical features. Is Clitheroe Castle a human feature or a physical feature? What about Pendle Hill?
We enjoyed a walk around the local area. We looked for signs and symbols in the environment. We also found different types of houses, including terraced houses, semi-detached, flats and even a motor home!
The children have enjoyed learning about our school and its surroundings. From our school we could see the vets, the fire station, Pendle hill and the cricket field. We discussed human and physical features.
