We had a very exciting charity themed day throughout school on Friday. The children spent the day learning about the devastating events that a hurricane can have on communities. We made wind socks, put together an emergency checklist of things that were needed before, during and after the storm. In the afternoon we designed structures that would be able to withstand a simulated hurricane created by my very own hairdryer! We ended the day by thinking about all of the people affected by these natural disasters.
The children are making their own moving toy using a cam mechanism. First stage is to make and decorate the frame.
