Welly Wednesday
We enjoyed a weather walk, observing the weather and the effects in the environment I.e. muddy puddles, snow on Pendle Hill. We listened to the story, “Ellie’s Magic Wellies” and thought about the powers we’d like our wellies to have! We noticed it was tricker to balance on the beam when it was windy.

3rd November
Following on from our learning about Bonfire Night, we enjoyed building our own bonfire in the Wildlife Garden, and eating our delicious edible sparklers! Mrs Davy taught us a special bonfire song.
6th October
We explored signs of Autumn today by collecting different autumnal objects outside. We used the leaves we had collected to make hedgehogs with Miss Hanna. The children enjoyed being in charge of the iPads again!!! We have added one of our hedgehogs to our timeline to remind us what time of the year autumn is.
29th & 30th September
Following on from our houses theme, we listened to the Gruffalo and discussed different animal homes in the outdoor world. We ventured into the wildlife garden, with our all in ones this time, and had a go at making our own! The children were then excited to have a go on the “slip and slide” as they have named it, and then enjoy LOTS of puddle jumping! Our school value of enjoyment was very prominent here - HUGE smiles on every child’s face! 😊
22nd & 23rd September
We enjoyed the story of the Leaf Man this week. We looked at all the different pictures made from using just leaves. Our task was to make our own leaf pictures.
15th September
Our first ever Welly Wednesday! What a gorgeous day for our first Welly Wednesday. We put our wellies on very sensibly and decided on some important rules for the Wildlife Garden - careful hands, walking feet and listening ears - (and to have lots of fun exploring of course!) We explored the Wildlife Garden and then listened to the story, "Ellie's Magic Wellies." We all thought about what magic power we would like our wellies to have!
