We have now unravelled the materials which has been dyed and placed them on radiators to dry. Mrs Govender will be wondering where her white material has gone to!

A basket appeared in the classroom...it had props to help us retell a story! I have seen some fantastic storytellers this week!

Super storytellers!

Doubles!

Can we grow any fruit we like out in the garden? The children have been learning about how certain fruits must be in a really hot place in order to grow. We talked about the Earth’s equator and discussed how countries closer to the equator are warmer.

We applied our knowledge of hot and cold colours to paint our own earth.

Thank you to Mrs Johnson for coming into teach us all about her job at the Deaf Village. She taught us some different signs, and the importance of signing for people who can’t hear.

Opening up the material after it has been in the dye! We spoke about the different colours we saw.

Look at the slice of red cabbage. What can you see? We saw a spider, a tiger, a tunnel, seaweed and a purple, white, purple, white pattern.

We have been making our own dyes using onion skins and red cabbage. We think we will get orange, red and purple. We collected some grass to see if that would turn the fabric green!

Sharing between two parts. We now know that “When we share, it’s fair and being fair means both parts must have the same amount. I was blown away at the children’s sharing and use of vocabulary, such as “equal”.

Super Sharing!
