Plants
We created our own plants, we included a stem, roots and leaves. We know that a trunk is like a giant stem. A stem can be called a stalk.
We had our science lesson in the wildlife garden. We explored the different plants and described interesting things that we noticed. We looked at different leaves and thought of ways to sort them. We found a big horse chestnut tree. Mrs Mercer gave us a conker and a horse chestnut shoot from her garden. The conker has started to grow, we planted them to grow our own horse chestnut trees.
Why is it fluffy in this dandelion?
We looked carefully at plants in our school grounds. We named nettles, grass, blossom, daisies, dandelions and daffodils. The trees had long roots stretching underground.
