We have been making comparisons between Clitheroe and Naro Maru, a rural village in Kenya. Amara, our friend, lives in Naro Maru, but she has been visiting us in Clitheroe so that we can get to know her and her village better. Before building Clitheroe and Naro Maru, we talked about their similarities and differences. We included labels because we know that maps need them. What can the children tell you about Naro Maru?

Evangeline, a friend of Amara's, sent us a postcard! We learned more about their village of Naro Maru. We discussed how they get water and harvest their crops.

Meet Amara! She has been teaching us all about her village of Naro Maru, in Kenya, Africa.

We enjoyed learning about the Maasai tribe. We made colourful necklaces and enjoyed jumping dancing!

We have been learning about the different landscapes of Kenya. We found out that in Kenya you can find mountains, valleys, savannahs and beaches. We also talked about human and physical features. We compared the landscapes of Kenya to where we live and wrote postcards to our families.

We have been looking at where tropical fruits grow.

We have been learning about African wildlife, including the "Big Five." Can you solve our riddles?

Can you spot the giraffe?

We got on a flight to Africa, Kenya!
