Handa's Surprise!

We have been retelling the story of “The Enormous Turnip.” We used some excellent vocabulary, including the words tugged, heaved and colossal.
We created our own stories based on “The Enormous Turnip.”

We have been learning about tropical fruits. We know that certain fruits grow in hot places.
Super phonics during learning choice! We used hoops to make the “oo” sound before reading the word.
We read the book "Oliver's Milkshake." We then discussed the ingredients Oliver needed to make his frothy milkshake. We also discussed where milk and fruit come from. We then discovered a note from Oliver at the back of the book explaining that he wants to make his friends a milkshake but has misplaced the recipe. We got right to work and prepared a delicious frothy banana milkshake.
We have been innovating a poem called "I went to the fridge." We are so proud of the children and their fantastic ideas!
It has been a busy week in Tesco!

For Shrove Tuesday, we made fruit pancakes. We had fun tasting and describing the fruit.
