Spring 1

In geography this half term we have have explored the hot and cold places of the world. The three key places we learnt about were: The North Pole, The Equator and The South Pole.

Ask us what the equator is and why it is hotter at the equator. Maybe you could use a balloon and torch to experiment and explain why places closer to the equator are hotter.

We have also explored why the coldest places on Earth are far from the Equator. During the topic we have also investigated what human and physical features we might see at each of these places. We have imagined what it would be like to live there as well as researching the animals we might see. We have compared these to our lives here in Clitheroe, England- including the weather.
