Romans
We were Celtic spies, the Romans were close by and we needed to see what armour and training techniques they used.
We managed to capture Marcus Mercerus a Roman centurion… we interrogated her to get a better understanding of how they had been successful in creating their empire and why they would want to invade Great Britain.
This week, on International Women’s Day, we studied Boudicca- a very powerful and independent lady. We started the session by creating a timeline of the chronology of significant events in her life. We then created a comic strip explaining why Boudicca was such a significant person from the Roman period.
This week we were super spies- we went back in time to look at how life changed during the Roman period. We paid close attention to, and compared Roman settlements in comparison to the Iron Age settlements.
This week we debated the question- Why did the Roman Empire seem to suddenly end?
We listened to and looked at some secondary sources of evidence. We used this evidence to draw a quick sketch of the reason we thought the period ended, we then developed a little deeper, and made links between each event.we then wrote a report with our findings.
