Practising different structures

We created two different freestanding structures - they both had to be stable and stand on their own!  We used different techniques such as measuring, folding, scoring and cutting.  During the practise stage we could join our structure together by using sellotape, a stapler  or glue.  This will help us in our design phase.  

Some of us measured out the spacing too!

We secured our freestanding structures down by gluing them onto card which made them even more sturdier and stable.

We created a tower which had buttresses to make it stable and freestanding.

Finally, we created a freestanding structure using art straws and pipe cleaners.  Look at our impressive creations:
