Our new topic this half-term is "Under the Sea."
The children will dive into an exciting underwater adventure through a range of engaging stories such as Commotion in the Ocean, Sally and the Limpet and Pirates Love Underpants.
In Geography, the children will explore the coast, learning about different geographical features, including land and water. We will also discuss how and why people visit different places for different reasons, including seaside locations.
In Science, we will investigate materials and our senses, helping the children understand the world around them through hands-on exploration and discovery.
In Design and Technology (DT), we will be exploring food. The children will take part in making “A Feast for a Pirate,” where they will prepare and enjoy some pirate-themed food.
We are very proud of our finished shields and enjoyed creating them. They look amazing!

In PRSHE, we have been learning about how we change as we grow. We were delighted to have a special visit from Miss DeRosa and her beautiful baby girl!

In Maths, Reception children explored 3D shapes. They investigated which shapes would be best for building a tower and discussed the properties of different shapes. The children talked about features such as flat faces, curved surfaces and whether shapes could stack easily.

We received an exciting letter from the sea creatures! We used exciting vocabulary to describe them and put the words into sentences. Mrs Nunns couldn't believe how beautiful our writing was. We are very proud of ourselves!
