So unbelievably proud of these superstars for absolutely smashing their nativity!

Week Commencing 5th December

Super calendars today! We spoke about what it means when it’s a New Year. We spoke about the months of the year, and how when December ends, we go back to January and a new year begins. We looked at the way people around the world celebrate the new year, and spoke about promises or resolutions we can make.

After learning about the New Year, we listened to the song “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and noticed that it said “and a Happy New Year!” When watching the song, I explained how the people are doing special hand signs called “Makaton” and this is mainly to help people who cannot hear. The children loved watching the videos below, and began to notice repeated signs… “I think that one means beard…” “I can do that one… My name is…”

A super start to our rainbow challenges this week!

Week Commencing 28th November

We have been retelling the Nativity Story to help us understand why Christians celebrate Christmas.

The children have enjoyed lots of Christmas-themed provision.

To see the children's reactions to our Christmas classroom was magical! Whilst we sang Christmas songs, each of us chose a bauble to place on our class tree.
