Autumn 2
Christmas has arrived in 1RL! The children have had a wonderful time playing in Santa's workshop. They have been creating lists, writing cards, and wrapping gifts!
Superhero Day! The children looked fantastic and we had so much fun.
We talked about who our personal superheroes are!
Another visit from Real Life Superheroes! We had a look inside an ambulance.
We designed and created our own "Super Vegetables." The Year 1 children wrote fantastic character descriptions!

The Evil Pea is still up to his tricks! As a result, we made the decision to make some jelly to catch the him. The children's vocabulary was excellent. “It is melting just like ice.” "It's dissolving."
What would you say to the Evil Pea?
The Evil Pea trapped Miss Lancaster in toilet paper! We made "wanted" posters describing what he looks like. Please let 1RL know if you see him!
As the story "Supertato" is set in a supermarket, we decided to transform the role play area into a shop!
We have been thinking about what the vegetables could be thinking and saying while they are trapped by the Evil Pea.
The Evil Pea has been in our classroom! He has trapped the vegetables in the ice, taped some of them to the to the table and made a mess of our classroom! To try and catch him, we have been working very hard to create traps.
Super letter formation!
We had a special visit from a Police Officer.
We were extremely fortunate to have Nurse Zak visit us. She told us what it's like to be a nurse and showed us some of the equipment used by nurses. We even got to check each other's temperatures!
Bonfire Night! We followed a set of instructions to make edible sparklers, they were delicious. We also created some firework art using different shapes, before thinking about the sounds fireworks make and writing them down. The Year 1 children practised adding the suffix "ing" to the end of words.
What a brilliant first week back we have had. We were extremely excited to be in school on Halloween! We enjoyed the story of Funnybones. We made our our skeletons (which are incredible), wrote speech bubbles and danced to the skeleton song!
