Monday 7th June - Friday 11th June 2021

Wow! What an amazing week Year 6 had at PGL Winmarleigh! Please have a look through the photos to see the fun activities we had a go at. Some wonderful memories for our Year 6 children to cherish.

Summer Term

It is so lovely to have all the children back for their final term of Pendle, we hope this term will bring more of a sense of normality and the children can really enjoy their final weeks of their primary years.

We have lots to look forward to with PGL set to be a firm highlight this term!

The children are really enjoying our new class novel 'Varjak Paw' - make sure you check the English pages to see what we have been up to!

It has been a pleasure to enjoy the recent sunny weather for our PE lessons, we are currently developing our cricket skills and fitness levels.

Our Science topic for Summer Term 1 is the circulatory system and our History is the Victorians.

In Maths lessons we are working hard to make sure we have the key skills and understanding of  concepts, and apply these to solve problems.

Please check the subject folders at the bottom of the page over the term to see our fantastic learning.

A reminder that homework is set weekly and can be found in the homework folder below.

School Council 6A

Elections took place in class to decide on our new school council members this year, a huge thankyou to all those who put themselves forward as a candidate, we had some fantatic manifestos and it was a very hard choice!

I am very pleased to announce that Luca and Evie are our new school council members. They will work alongside our school council 'elders' Ava and Alex until Christmas to help set up a new 'Covid-safe' way of running our school council.

We are spending time revisiting and recapping essential skills which may have been missed during the lock-down period, and completing essential baseline assessments of where the children are currently at to ensure we can best support them to have a successful time during this academic year.

You can help at home by:

  • encouraging your child to make use of the Century Tech learning platform which, once your child has completed the diagnostic 'nuggets', will create a personalised learning pathway for your child to work through.
  • ensuring your child completes homework set each week (see weekly homework folder below)
  • reading daily at home and discussing the text
  • in the event of your child being well enough to attend school but not able to due to Covid-19 restrictions please check the home learning folder below for work set.
  • ensuring TTRockstars are completed each week.
