For our final Forest Friday of the year, we have been exploring the new seeds and berries that are growing in the wildlife garden!
We have been exploring our shadows this morning!
During Forest Friday we went bug hunting! We compared the similarities and differences between the animals we found. We also discovered a bird skeleton!
We have had an explosive science lesson making volcanoes! We discussed why the dinosaurs became extinct and made predictions as to what would happen when we mixed baking soda and vinegar together.
After the arrival of some giant eggs in our classroom, we cooked and ate our own soft boiled eggs! We observed how the bread changed when it was toasted and made predictions as to what would happen when the egg as it cooked
Election Day! Whilst the grown ups were casting their political vote, we had our own mini election in class! The candidates; Concentrating Crocodile, Ellie the Explorer and Planning puppy shared their manefestios with us before we made our decisions. From extra playtimes to more homework it was a close victory for Ellie the Explorer!
We have had a fantastic afternoon exploring the wildlife garden! We built a den for Christopher Columbus to hide in. We learnt how to tie a simple knot. We also used binoculars to spy on the Indians and found some amazing fossils!
As part of our History topic we have been learning about the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Today a giant feathery hat arrived in the classroom! It belonged to the Native American Indians!
We have been learning about where our food comes from and how to care for growing vegetables. We wrote bossy instructions explaining how to plant peas!
Inspired by the bird's egg that Megan and Erin found in their garden, we went into the Wildlife Garden with our binoculars in search of other birds!
Jack brought a lamb into school this week! We learnt how he cares for his sheep and how the lamb will change as it grows.
Thank you Tesco's for letting us visit your shop! We had a fantastic time searching for different types of fruit and vegetables and comparing the weight of them on the scales. It was very cold in the large freezers in your store room!
